STORM WATER DRAINAGE DESIGN
Council requires stormwater drainage design to accompany development applications for development that may be affected by surface water flooding, or where the proposal could increase flooding elsewhere.
Our experienced team works with property owners, developers and council to prepare the stormwater plan to safely dispose stormwater generated from the development site to the point of discharge as required by the council. The stormwater design may require:
- Estimation of pre and post development flow from the development site
- Estimation of attenuation / on site detention volume (if require)
- Design of drainage system including on site detention system
- Design of Water Sensitive Urban Design (if require)
We can also advise on problematic sites which may require an alternative means of managing stormwater where there are limitations in drainage network capacity or other environmental drivers.
WATER DETENTION AND RETENTION SYSTEM
On-site Stormwater Detention (OSD) is a way of collecting stormwater on site generated by a development and is slowly discharged into the municipality drainage system via a control device so that it doesn’t worsen downstream flooding.
Excess water can also be reused for different purposes such as irrigation and gardening, washing cars and toilet flushing etc. Civil Engineering team can provide several solutions for OSD and retention system depending on the specific needs and requirements of each development.
