Piling Design

A pile is a type of foundation that is used in building construction when the founding material around the property is not stable enough to support a conventional slab and footings.

We provide expert advice and design solution to timber, steel or concrete bored/driven piles for the site specific needs.

Types of piling design

  • Underlying founding material is unstable
  • Slab and footings are undermined by the neighbouring excavation work
  • Slab and footings may undermined by the future excavation services such as sewer, stormwater, water main pipes
  • Excessive loading is proposed to the weak founding materials
  • Soil reactivity of underlying material is very high/problematic

Underpinning Design

Underpinning is a process of strengthening existing slab and footings. Usually underpinning is required for a structure if the founding material is not capable to take imposed loads.

We provide very cost effective design solution and expert advice to any underpin any residential structure to avoid any future consequence from underpinning.

Types of Underpinning design

  • Underlying founding material is subsided
  • Slab and footings are undermined by the neighbouring excavation work
  • Underlying founding material is not stable
  • Additional loading is imposed to the existing slab and footings
  • Existing slab and footings failed to support the structures above
  • Settlement of the existing founding material due to trees

Carport Design

Types of carport design

  • Timber framed carport
  • Steel framed carport
  • Carport footings design
  • Alteration to existing carport

Beam and Column Design

Beams and columns are the crucial components within a building which transfer imposed load from roof and floors to the subsequent supporting structures below. We provide cost effective design and details for varieties of beams and columns.

Beams are traditionally descriptions of building or civil engineering structural elements.  Connection between beams and columns are perhaps the most common structural connection type, a wide range of different types are used and these include fin plates, end plates, web or flange cleats and connections.

Need of Beams and columns design

Beams to column connection are very common and a variety of details can be used. The subject which is being more important in structural design today is loaded beam columns .The stability analysis of the elastic-plastic framed structure requires the solution of loaded beam columns for any structure. The exterior beam columns joints are made mostly to prevent earthquakes, and carry the capacity of structures or buildings joints properly.  Finite element models are used to conduct a detailed study on the load carrying capacity of substandard joints.

Types of Beams and columns design

  • In engineering beams and columns designs are of several types.
  • Steel Design: Steel design software that easily designs or checks steel beams, columns  and single span beam-columns using best standards.
  • Concrete Beam Design: Concrete design software that designs one -way flexural members, including beams, one way slabs and joists.
  • Concrete Column Design: Concrete design software that will design or check concrete columns for axial tension, compression and biaxial moments.
  • Timber Design: Design or check any continuous beam or column using the latest building codes in just a couple of minutes. Unlimited load and support conditions, automatic load generation and mush more.
  • Aluminum Design: Design or check aluminum members for axial loads, biaxial bending and deflections. Supported shapes include wide flanges, tubes, angles, channels, pipes and double angles.
  • Composite Steel Design: Design or check encased and composite beams using various design codes. Beam can be designed for full or partial composite action.
Fusion engineering designs multi span beams including connecting columns. Our experts provide special and best designs for any construction or building. All the experts are experienced and we provide satisfactory services to our clients for beam and column designs.
Footing Design

A footing transfers loads of the superstructures above to the founding materials and resist the loads from the earth. A careful consideration of a footing design make the whole structure stable and adequate.

They are typically made of concrete with rebar reinforcement that has been poured into an excavated trench. Footings or foundations are designed to have an adequate load capacity with limited settlement by geotechnical engineer, and the footing itself may be designed structurally by a structural engineer. The primary design concern is settlement and bearing capacity. Footing is most important for any structure. Strong footing design can make the construction strong and durable; hence footing is important for any buildings, bridges and other construction with best design.

Types of footing design

  • Pad stones: Perhaps the simplest foundation is the pad stone, a single stone which both spreads the weight on ground and raises the timber off the ground. Straddle stones are specific types of pad stone.
  • Stone Foundations: Dry stone and stone laid in mortar to build foundations are common in many parts of world. Dry laid stone foundations may have been being pointed with mortar after construction. Sometimes the top, visible course of stone is hewn, quarried stones.
  • Rubble trench foundations: Rubble trench foundations are a shallow trench filled with rubble or stones. These foundations extend below the frontline and may have a drain pipe which helps groundwater drain away.

Importance of footing design

A building foundation is essentially a connector between the walls of the building and the footing. Footing is wider than foundation with the intent of distributing the weight of structure evenly over more space. This helps to prevent pressure points in the base of the structure, which helps to avoid uneven settling. Footing are so integral for the long term viability of  a structure, their design deserves and require a great deal of attention, with a quality steel building and a concrete base , you can expect many decades of use out of your investments. The expert design and site-specific construction will save significant cost in the long term maintenance of a structure and will enhance its value.

Fusion engineering is a construction company specializing is footings designs. It is one of the most recognized and respected structural design company.  They aim to provide clients with the best possible footing design for the constructions. We will be sure to provide you with references and as much as information necessary to make the best possible educated decision for your unique situation.  We take great pride to follow through and following up. Servicing our clients is just as important, guaranteed satisfaction.

Slab Design

Slab design is one of the most important part of a building. We provide extensive design and details of a site specific residential concrete slab. Our expertise in the foundation design and selection is vital to determine the appropriate slab design.

Slab is a flat surface to support load of various things. Slab designs makes buildings attractive .Concrete slab is common structural element of modern building.

Types of slab design

  • Raft slab
  • Waffle slab
  • Suspended slab
  • Basement Slab
  • Infill Slab

  • Raft Slab:

A Raft slab is reinforced concrete slab that is strengthened with concrete in both directions. Most of the smart builders used raft slabs in their buildings. The raft concrete slab provides great flexibility and strength on most soil classes and site conditions.

  • Waffle Slab:

Waffle Slab is a reinforced concrete slab with equal space ribs parallel to the slides, having waffle appearance. These slabs provide a very good form where slab vibration is an issue, such as laboratories and hospitals. It has excellent vibration control ,relatively light, therefore foundation costs is low, good for services integration , durable and fine resistance.

  • Suspended Slab:

These slabs are not directly contact with ground. They form roofs of floors above ground level.

Suspended slab are of two types

One way slabs which are supported in two sides and Two way slabs which are supported in four sides.

  • Basement Slab: A slab basement is a concrete basement without footings. The basement of walls is built and then a concrete slab is placed. This creates a concrete slab floor that is like floating slab. The term floating slab basement means that we can move slab up and down according to our requirement. This is attractive in looking and easy for placement.
  • Infill Slab: These slabs are simply poured between existing walls, so no framework is required for it. Infill slab doesn't require external or internal stiffening beams and are typically used in garage floors rather than others.

Needs of Slab Design:

Slab is very important part in any building. Attractive designs of slabs make the building look attractive. Slabs makes buildings attractive and are useful as well. Slab is one part of building that bears the weight of everything that is placed on its top. It also protects the wood and other materials from element that may compromise their functions such as moisture and insect's .Slab also lay out the dimensions of home. Slab is the choice of every people in any types of buildings, either at office of house, because it last longer and is easier to maintain things.Hence slab is needed for any buildings.

Fusion Engineering provides best slab design services to customers. Our experts design attractive slab design according to buildings structure to make it beautiful. We are involved in this sector to provide best service to people.
